Map points, plot sections and grave numbers
The interactive map shows 29 points of orientation at Heidefriedhof Dresden: six access points, the office, visitor parking, two bus platforms, the hall, two toilets, information boards, memorials and other destinations. Filters let you select the categories relevant to your visit. The numbered text list remains readable even when map tiles are unavailable.
Take the official grounds plan
Open the operator’s official grounds plan – PDF pages 22–23The plan shows sections and the layout of different burial areas across a two-page spread. Save the PDF before your visit if you need it without a mobile connection. An area or building centre on the interactive map does not identify its exact entrance or an individual grave.
Use the separate plan for notable graves
Open the operator’s personalities plan PDFIts numbers identify selected people and monuments. They differ from both the numbers in our map list and official grave numbers. Notable graves explains the relevant plan references. The grave map includes only entries with a precise location.
Finding your way on the grounds
From the main entrance on Moritzburger Landstraße, the principal path leads to the funeral hall. Further paths connect the memorial grove, obelisk, rondel and memorial wall. The Pond of Remembrance and Buddhist burial ground are distinct destinations elsewhere within the cemetery.
For a private grave you need its section, row and grave number. Grave search explains how to obtain them. Smaller memorial stones do not all have individual markers; the personalities plan provides additional orientation for those monuments.
