Selectable plots and row graves
Heidefriedhof Dresden offers both coffin and urn burials. For a selectable plot, the location is chosen with the office; renewal of usage rights depends on the burial type. A row grave is assigned in sequence within a designated area and does not offer the same renewal option.
Main forms of burial
- Selectable coffin plots and coffin row graves: different arrangements apply to choosing a location, additional burials and renewal.
- Selectable urn plots and urn row graves: a selectable urn plot can accommodate several urns, depending on its type; an urn row grave is for one urn.
- Partner and communal graves: shared landscape design, with names recorded where the burial form provides for it. Maintenance and individual decoration follow specific rules.
- Unnamed communal areas: individual graves are not personally marked. Use the designated places for floral tributes.
Tree burials, the pond and dedicated areas
Woodland options include selectable plots at a single tree, spaces at a shared tree and a woodland burial area. The Pond of Remembrance has several forms of burial. The term “tree grave” alone does not establish who maintains a plot or whether its rights can be renewed.
There are also dedicated areas for children and pregnancy loss, and Muslim and Buddhist burial grounds. Human-and-animal selectable urn plots allow pet urns in connection with a human burial plot. Discuss the conditions and available spaces with the office.
Questions to ask before choosing
Ask about location selection, duration, renewal, naming, headstones and included maintenance. For current availability and fees, contact +49 351 8498958. A general description does not reserve a space. The official grounds plan helps locate the relevant areas.
